Hi Goldfish team members!

I'm Cnd, one of the two co-palhonchos of team Dualscar ♥ Psiioniic. I thought we should start by having an informal post where we introduce ourselves, talk about what kinds of fanworks we like to do, and just generally get a discussion going. You can use the form below, or just introduce yourself however you like. Please tag into each others threads and be friendly!

This is also a place where you can feel free to ask any questions you have. I did HSO last year (I was on Sollux ♠ Eridan) and so I have some idea of how this works. Though there have been some rule changes this year, the basic way the challenge works doesn't seem to have changed.

As an aside, I would strongly suggest that you 'track' this community, so you can get a notification when new posts go up. Once the challenge starts, timelines can sometimes be tight, and I don't want anyone to miss out on being able to participate, or miss any deadlines.

Name or handle: I usually go by ZK online. I have a bunch of peeps call me Nanna too so I will answer to that as well!
The reason I love DS♥Psii is: Snark! Also it's like a "let's make it good while this lasts" since we all know what happened to them in the end :(
I usually like to produce the following kinds of fanworks:
Fanart and I uh, take cosplay photos but I don't think that will work out for HSO :))
But I also have these skills that I. could use to help the team: I like making graphics though I am rusty at it. Also I can possibly help with a fanmix? If my pc agrees with me - which happens sometimes! - I can also help clean up audio files in audacity if it comes to that. I used to write for other fandoms but have only tried writing Homestuck once :)
One odd or surprising thing about me is: so far I seem to be the oldest homestucker in my group :B
Anything else? I like cats!

They do take cosplay as a viable fanwork, but uh, I know I'm not going to be making Dualscar's armour for this, lmao.

I did see that but there was also a note about the costume should be made specifically for HSO? Which is sad because I know someone with a completed Psiionic costume and someone planning to make Dualscar's armor once he had funds. For the record I was saddled with Darkleer for that group :)

Yeah, and that's nuts, haha. If we were playing troll or human kids it wouldn't be hard to throw together a costume, but for the adults it's a lot more work.

Also I'm so sorry. Darkleer's outfit is crazy, haha. I actually want to do him someday, though. And use EL wire for the lines on his armour so they glow. But my wife and I are doing Mindfang and Dolorosa instead, for now.

Oh well we still have options anyway! :) We'll do something awesome I just know it.

I'd love to do Darkleer with EL wire but it's hard to find where I'm at, so we're plotting reflective tape or something similar. And I'd love to see your Mindfang and Dolorosa someday! Our group has like - /counts seven of the ancestors finished, so we only need the Handmaid, Disciple, Darkleer, the Grand Highblood and Dualscar before we can plan out a shoot :) The planning part's awkward because the Handmaid cosplayer and I are our usual photographers!

We're ordering our EL wire online. It's a bit expensive, particularly for the battery packs, I think, but I don't know where we'd get it at a retail store. We're doing the lines on Mindfang and Dolorosa that way, mostly the ones on the bodice. Right now all we really have done are the horns. It's been a slow thing since we have commissions and other projects on the go and the MF and D don't really have a deadline. When they're done, we'll hit a con with them.

I've seen gorgeous work done with EL wire but primarily in armor and some stage costumes in music videos, so I am totally rooting for it to work out for you! :)

Yeah, same here! I think it'll be fun, though I'm worried I'll be weighed down with 948929 battery packs, since I'm Mindfang. My wife's pretty ambitious, and she's the seamstress in the household, haha.
