I'm Cnd, one of the two co-palhonchos of team Dualscar ♥ Psiioniic. I thought we should start by having an informal post where we introduce ourselves, talk about what kinds of fanworks we like to do, and just generally get a discussion going. You can use the form below, or just introduce yourself however you like. Please tag into each others threads and be friendly!
This is also a place where you can feel free to ask any questions you have. I did HSO last year (I was on Sollux ♠ Eridan) and so I have some idea of how this works. Though there have been some rule changes this year, the basic way the challenge works doesn't seem to have changed.
As an aside, I would strongly suggest that you 'track' this community, so you can get a notification when new posts go up. Once the challenge starts, timelines can sometimes be tight, and I don't want anyone to miss out on being able to participate, or miss any deadlines.

Date: 2012-05-14 02:02 am (UTC)The reason I love DS♥Psii is: I have always loved mustardblood/sea dweller dynamics, as you can probably tell if you know me at all or look at my AO3. The power dynamic is so fun to play, and both sides have such a variety of damaging emotional issues to play with *licks*~ And playing with adults rather than children just makes everything that much more...intense. But in particular, a huge kink of mine is enemies who manage to deal with their issues and work together, even falling in love, so something like this pairing is totally up my alley.
I usually like to produce the following kinds of fanworks: I'm primarily a writer.
But I also have these skills that I could use to help the team: I can do sprite edits and colour lineart. I wouldn't say I'm the best at either, but I do have decent facility with photoshop.
One odd or surprising thing about me is: In real life, I'm a lawyer! Also my wife is a seamstress.
Anything else? I have a AO3 account with a lot of Homestuck fic, and one of them is Dualscar♥Psiioniic♥Sollux, which might be relevant to the interests of those here ;)

-B) ARGUING FOREVER which inevitably leads to A anyway

Basically all the emotions forever and the only time they stop bickering is when they cuddle because EMOTIONS. Or something. I should not be typing this at two in the morning.
I usually like to produce the following kinds of fanworks: I can write! To a lesser extent, I can also draw!
But I also have these skills that I could use to help the team: I may or may not be able to produce a fanmix if I can go through my hundreds of songs!
One odd or surprising thing about me is: Birds?

I usually like to produce the following kinds of fanworks:
Fanart and I uh, take cosplay photos but I don't think that will work out for HSO :))
But I also have these skills that I. could use to help the team: I like making graphics though I am rusty at it. Also I can possibly help with a fanmix? If my pc agrees with me - which happens sometimes! - I can also help clean up audio files in audacity if it comes to that. I used to write for other fandoms but have only tried writing Homestuck once :)
One odd or surprising thing about me is: so far I seem to be the oldest homestucker in my group :B

And I'd love to see your Mindfang and Dolorosa someday! Our group has like - /counts seven of the ancestors finished, so we only need the Handmaid, Disciple, Darkleer, the Grand Highblood and Dualscar before we can plan out a shoot :) The planning part's awkward because the Handmaid cosplayer and I are our usual photographers!

Date: 2012-05-15 03:38 pm (UTC)We're ordering our EL wire online. It's a bit expensive, particularly for the battery packs, I think, but I don't know where we'd get it at a retail store. We're doing the lines on Mindfang and Dolorosa that way, mostly the ones on the bodice. Right now all we really have done are the horns. It's been a slow thing since we have commissions and other projects on the go and the MF and D don't really have a deadline. When they're done, we'll hit a con with them.

I usually like to produce the following kinds of fanworks: I write, mostly I roleplay! So, maybe I could round robin a story with someone? If they would not mind that.
But I also have these skills that I could use to help the team: If I actually put effort into it, I could probably color someone's lineart! Also, since it seems a few of us are able to make a fanmix, maybe we could mix our fanmixes and use that for an entry sometime? COLLABORATION.
One odd or surprising thing about me is: I have a betta fish named Eridan and I own a Dualscar plushie made for me by my girlfriend in the real life. Here he is!
Anything else? My girlfriend is cyclopticrobot she is pretty fucking great okay. Other than that, my Dualscar account is ahabswwrath on livejournal and here on dreamwidth, but he's mostly in museboxes oops. Oh! But I also have these skills that I could use to help the team: Constructive critiques, moral support, a fresh viewpoint is always helpful. Now, since I'm no Native English speaker, I'm naturally not the best author or role player [not that those are traits of mine, regardless of language], but I will help out as best as and in any way that I can~
I think collaborating would benefit this team tremendously, I'd be up for it for sure ;3
One odd or surprising thing about me is: There's not much that can surprise today's Online society, but heck, at the end of summer I'm being shipped off to live on some small island somewhere.

Well, all climates come with their ups and downs?
It's currently summer here, but we had snow last week, and now it's raining non-stop, and it never gets dark.
Cosplaying in those conditions makes you truly dedicated, which is admirable~

Aw, I guess we do have to be crazy dedicated to cosplay in the heat but then you may have to deal with the cold over there? Unique circumstances everywhere! :B

Because right since the Ψiioniic was revealed, I was in love with the idea of this pairing and all the possibilities it holds. Roleplaying it with my best friend for the last half-year has just made me fall that much more in love with them.
I usually like to produce the following kinds of fanworks: Writing, primarily. I am always, always writing in some way, shape, or form. I also draw quite a bit, so there's that.
But I also have these skills that I could use to help the team: I make fanmixes occasionally as well, but those don't usually tend to see the light of day and so I doubt I'd be using that particular media for this.
One odd or surprising thing about me is: I get mistaken for a girl almost every single time I go out in public. It's really unfortunate, and also sort of embarrassing.
Anything else? I have the hugest crush of the absolute gayest caliber, on Mark Sheppard. It's very unusual for me to crush on celebrities, but damn if I wouldn't kill just for a chance to so much as shake that man's hand.

Surprisingly, yes. One of my teammates from the HSO last year who also happens to be one of my dearest friends, for example. She refuses to watch it and teases me relentlessly about my obsession. :U
IT REALLY IS.
Also. Heh. I was actually in last Friday's episode; just very briefly and in the background, but still. They were filming a few blocks up from my best friend's place, and so we went and lurked the set for the entire day. You can see us standing at the bus stop in the scene at the gas station, near the beginning [and you can just baaaarely see my blue hair, haha]. Jared actually came over to us when they were done for the night and we chatted for a bit, then he gave me his autograph and a HUG. It was pretty much the best thing ever and I'm still rolling around in my feels over a month later.

The reason I love DS♥Psii is: it has everything! tragedy, nautical themes, tragedy, ancestors, sideburns, tragedy, romance, more tragedy-- but also the potential to be not tragic, given the right prompt. uvu it's just a really fantastic ship, and i'm super glad to be on the team for it!!
I usually like to produce the following kinds of fanworks: mostly digital art!
But I also have these skills that I could use to help the team: basic spriting skills, rudimentary video editing, and slap-dash comic-making. OTL it's been a long time since i've written anything worthwhile, but i can give it my all if you need me to!

The reason I love DS♥Psii is: is because I was forced into Erisol a valid reason? Because I was... and now... there's no way back. No way back at all.
I usually like to produce the following kinds of fanworks: Fanfiction. That's the only thing I can do to save my life. And I'm not even sure that I do it right but hey, learning is a daily thing! I have some fics on my tumblr account and I just got an AO3 so I'm posting it all there.
But I also have these skills that I could use to help the team: cosplay? I'm going to casual-cosplay Eridan, so I guess I could always add scars and all that... I'd be lacking a Psii though OTL

Your heart says one thing and society says another. It's right up my ally! I also enjoy seadweller x landdweller relationships because they are adorable and you have a lot of headcanon room!
I usually like to produce the following kinds of fanworks: I normally draw fanart, and at times I can be known to whip up a quick cosplay or write?? It's mostly fanart though.
But I also have these skills that I could use to help the team: I'm pretty efficiant in anything exept for making music? I can however do linearts / comic panels / backgrounds / gifs if needed :]
