Hi Goldfish team members!
I'm Cnd, one of the two co-palhonchos of team Dualscar ♥ Psiioniic. I thought we should start by having an informal post where we introduce ourselves, talk about what kinds of fanworks we like to do, and just generally get a discussion going. You can use the form below, or just introduce yourself however you like. Please tag into each others threads and be friendly!
This is also a place where you can feel free to ask any questions you have. I did HSO last year (I was on Sollux ♠ Eridan) and so I have some idea of how this works. Though there have been some rule changes this year, the basic way the challenge works doesn't seem to have changed.
As an aside, I would strongly suggest that you 'track' this community, so you can get a notification when new posts go up. Once the challenge starts, timelines can sometimes be tight, and I don't want anyone to miss out on being able to participate, or miss any deadlines.
I'll be posting another post for contact info in a few minutes!

Date: 2012-05-16 07:08 am (UTC)The reason I love DS♥Psii is: Pretty much every single cliché reason I can come to think of makes this a great ship to sail. Adult trolls finding a connection despite being on opposite sides of a major conflict, it just interests me [heck], and I really wish to explore this part of the fandom, so indulge me. There's so much potential. So much....
I usually like to produce the following kinds of fanworks: I mainly draw, but we'll do some brainstorming and figure it out together~
But I also have these skills that I could use to help the team: Constructive critiques, moral support, a fresh viewpoint is always helpful. Now, since I'm no Native English speaker, I'm naturally not the best author or role player [not that those are traits of mine, regardless of language], but I will help out as best as and in any way that I can~
I think collaborating would benefit this team tremendously, I'd be up for it for sure ;3
One odd or surprising thing about me is: There's not much that can surprise today's Online society, but heck, at the end of summer I'm being shipped off to live on some small island somewhere.
Anything else?I'll miss my xBox.
Seriously though, getting psyched about this~
where doing it man. where MAKING THIS HAPEN!

Date: 2012-05-16 08:15 am (UTC)I could probably say it over a voice-chat on sometime, hehe, if anyone [other than me] would be up for having group-covos on Skype? [can actually be quite nice]
So what's your Native language then? :3
Small island by the name of Hasnøy http://tinyurl.com/d3wteyq
Luckily it's not in the middle of nowhere, and not tropical either~
Probably one of my favourite HS-quotes, sadly x3

Date: 2012-05-16 08:57 am (UTC)I'm Filipino! I speak the local lingo pretty well but I can't type it without messing up somewhere :) Sadly we are tropical which means going as a troll requires constant retouching :((

Filipino? That's pretty cool, for some reason it seems like about 90+% of all Homestuckers are American, so being a multicultural team is quite neat~
Well, all climates come with their ups and downs?
It's currently summer here, but we had snow last week, and now it's raining non-stop, and it never gets dark.
Cosplaying in those conditions makes you truly dedicated, which is admirable~

Date: 2012-05-16 02:45 pm (UTC)I know at least half-a-dozen local fen who joined HSO this year, and a couple more who tried but missed the cutoff. :( We're a rather active group because we consider ourselves as part of one crazy family. :)
Aw, I guess we do have to be crazy dedicated to cosplay in the heat but then you may have to deal with the cold over there? Unique circumstances everywhere! :B

Date: 2012-05-16 02:42 pm (UTC)As for the American thing, I'm Canadian. Does that count? ;)

Date: 2012-05-17 12:47 am (UTC)as a kid I read the books translated, Galleon, Sigd and Fjong, almost all the characters got new names too, it was so confusing suddenly reading it in English when I got old enough. HP nostalgia. What I've found out through
stalkingresearch is.. 4 Americans, 2 Canadians, the rest being Filipino, Portuguese, Norwegian and.. uhm.. s.Korean? Not sure how accurate that is though~
But of course Canadian counts ;P
While I was travelling the US, the Americans would always point out the Canadians before I was introduced, like a heads-up. It was kind of awkwardly sweet.

Date: 2012-05-17 12:51 am (UTC)Does one need a heads-up about Canadians? We're a polite species XD;

Date: 2012-05-17 01:17 am (UTC)I'd say main difference is political views.. As I experienced it at least.
Though I met this one Canadian in Arizona who was being the most stereotypical American possible, then he refused watching anything but Canadian TV to compensate.Fun times.
